Alexander Sivkov

Painter, graphic artist. Born in 1954 in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk region. In 1982 he graduated from the Nizhne-Tagil Pedagogical Institute (teacher V.N. Nasedkin, L.I. Skoblikova). Since 1984 he has been a participant of major domestic and international exhibitions (Bulgaria, Sweden, Holland, Lithuania, Japan, USA, Poland, Macedonia, Germany). Since 1993 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He works in the field of easel painting, photography, installation. Lives and works in Yekaterinburg. 2005 - laureate of the regional competition "Kamerton", 2007 - nominee of the Governor's Prize of the Sverdlovsk region. The artist's works are in the collections of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, art museums of Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Vilnius.

Inspired by the creative searches of the great experimenters of the XX century - V. Kandinsky, K. Malevich, P. Mondrian, etc. - Alexander Sivkov creates his own recognizable handwriting, allowing him to reflect the diversity of subjective experiences and thoughts from contact with reality.

The results of creative searches of recent years have been embodied in an art project dedicated to the history of the Urals, including the installation "Pisanitsa" and a series of graphic sheets "Breath of the Earth", "Stone Chronicle of the Urals", "Archaeology", etc.
