Evgeny Cherepanov

Evgeny Aleksandrovich Cherepanov is a contemporary Ural artist who works in the field of non-objective art. He graduated from the Zlatoust Art School and, in 1985, from the Art and Graphics Department of the Nizhny Tagil Pedagogical Institute. He has participated in regional, national, and international exhibitions. From 2003 to 2023, he was the head of the Design Department at the Ozersk State College of Arts. Currently, he lives and works in Yekaterinburg. Winner of the IV All-Russian Watercolor Exhibition (2014), awarded a first-degree diploma in the Painting category of the All-Russian Arts Festival "Ural Arts Week 2015". Member of the Union of Artists of Russia. His works are in private collections in Russia, Italy, and the USA. Cherepanov believes that his abstract compositions reflect the reality of existence. His creative method is based on observing phenomena that evoke emotional responses. These observations are summarized, analyzed, and translated into a formal plastic language, bypassing the subject characteristics.
