First gallery

The Odoevsky Gallery was founded in 1998. First it held exhibitions in the exhibition halls of the Ekaterinburg Cinema House. In June 1999 – the first exhibition in it’s own exhibition halls. Until 2003, the gallery held about 50 exhibitions, including genre – “Still Life,” “Landscape” (40-50 authors), author’s vernissages of Ekaterinburg artists, a group exhibition “Seven Artists” timed to the Congress of UNESCO. The gallery had its own baguette workshop, equipped with modern equipment and an adjacent park area, which housed a free art market. Art historians, who collaborated with the gallery, held such major exhibitions as “Sverdlovsk Artists in Moscow”, “Socialistic Ural ” 1985, “ Artistic Ekaterinburg – 275 Years” and several hundred other city, zone and foreign exhibitions. The main principle of the gallery is dynamism, frequent change of exhibition (from 1 day to 2 weeks), holding high-profile conceptual and commercial exhibitions. The concept of working with artists is openness to all directions and styles, with the obligatory presence of artistic merits or bright conceptual orientation.
