Evgeny Aleksandrovich Cherepanov (born 1959) is a painter and graphic artist. Graduated from the Art and Graphic Faculty of the Nizhny Tagil State Pedagogical Institute (1985), member of the Union of Artists of Russia, participant of regional, national and international exhibitions. The space of the city is multidimensional and incomprehensible. The million‑strong metropolis, despite its apparent unity, seems to exist in different temporal layers, constantly transforming and changing. The process of acquiring new states, objects, and meanings never stops for a single minute. Evgeny Cherepanov – an attentive observer of urban everyday life – builds his own model of the surrounding universe on canvases. He doesn’t care about the ordinary shell that artists known as realists copy. The little details of everyday life, the arbitrary superimposition of signs and meanings, textures and melodies – that’s what attracts the master of painting. The presented program of non‑figurative art is surprising and captivating. Individual preferences, personal stories, subjective assessments, and faith in one’s own gift determine the uniqueness of the pictorial strategy.
