Vera Grekova

Was born in 1950 in Sverdlovsk. Artist of decorative and applied arts. She graduated from the design department of the Sverdlovsk Art College named after Shadra in 1969 and the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School (former Stroganovskoye) (department "Interior, Artistic Textiles") in 1978. since 1989 - a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Laureate of the Sverdlovsk Region Governor's Prize "For Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Literature and Art" in 2003. Diploma winner of the Russian Academy of Arts of the participant of the traveling exhibition "Ural" in 2007, Gold medal of the X Regional Exhibition "Ural" in 2008. Vera Grekova is one of the founders of the Yekaterinburg school of hand painting on fabric (silk, wool, cotton). She created numerous works in this unique technique: panels, curtains, screens for the design of various interiors, cycles of paintings (together with B. Klochkov) in the technique of "painting on fabric", collections of dresses and suits with hand painting (fashion designer L. Kokoreva). Her paintings reside in museums and private collections at home and abroad.
